TDR High Flow Air Filter Kit
1999-2005 Miata with M45 Supercharger
|
Airflow restriction is minimized using a large 2 3/4" silicone hose to smooth the airflow and place the air filter further from heat. The durable 5-layer silicone hose is an excellent insulator and will help keep the intake air cool. The K&N air filter attaches to the outside of the silicone hose to add even more volume and smoothes out the airflow. Consider the TDR M45 Bypass Hose Kit 1 for additional air filter performance. |

These pulleys are CNC machined aluminum and anodized black. These are replacements/upgrades for either the M45 and MP62 depending on which belt system your blower uses.

Direct replacement for the stock supercharger bypass actuator unit. We have found that these units will fail after 1-2 years of use or around 30K miles.

Not bad, needs instructions (contained in my review).

The parts themselves are excellent quality, and real simple, a multi-ply tube with a nice bend in it, a K&N air filter, and two hose clamps. No instructions were included, but if you install parts yourself on a regular basis you can figure it out. First you of course remove the Jackson Racing air filter box and remove your intake air temperature sender from the Jackson Racing air filter box. Then you have to remove a bracket that has three relays attached to it. I was able to bolt two of the relays into the mounting holes that originally held the bracket, but the third relay is swinging free. Also, with the new intake tube there is no provision for the intake air temperature sender. I used an appropriate sized drill bit and drilled my own hole in the top of the multi-ply tube just in front of the bend. I never use a screw driver to tighten hose clamps, and all of the hose clamps in my engine bay use an 8mm socket... except the one that comes on the K&N filter. I believe it is 6mm.
So, in conclusion this is a high quality intake system, and would be excellent with two minor revisions:
1. A hole for the intake air temperature probe.
2. Supply hose clamps that use the same size socket for tightening.
