We selected these SKF Pilot bearings because of their superior all metal design which holds up better to high temperatures. Most pilot bearings either use a rubber seal or are an open design.
When these fail they typically make an awful racket. The tough part of replacing this bearing is access. It's in the center of the flywheel and pressed in. Replacement requires transmission removal. If you are replacing the clutch, replace this bearing at the same time. It is included in our clutch kits already.
