Power Pulse Muffler
1990-1997 Miata
The Racing Beat Power Pulse Dual Outlet Exhaust project was originally started after a request by Mazda USA for a prototype system for use on one of their project Miatas. Reaction was very positive and Racing Beat soon included this exhaust system into the Racing Beat line-up.
The Racing Beat Dual Outlet Muffler for the 1990-1997 Miata is produced entirely from 304-stainless steel for superior durability and appearance. The inlet tube features a thick, cast-stainless steel flange which provides excellent gas sealing capabilities. Each stainless steel outlet tube feeds into a double-walled tip for an aggressive and sporty look. The two 3.5" OD exhaust tips are manufactured using highly polished 304-stainless steel and are slightly oval in shape to provide a perfect balance and proportional fit with the Miata's rear bumper. Each tip features a etched Racing Beat logo to add the finishing touch!
Like all Racing Beat exhaust components, this system has been tuned to provide the Miata with a deep, throaty exhaust note - without any harsh, buzzy or "raspy" sounds. When combined with a Racing Beat Power Pulse Connecting Pipe, this dual tip exhaust system will add just the right amount of "attitude" to your Miata!
Each Power Pulse system comes complete with fully detailed instructions and mounting hardware, and can be easily installed by the weekend mechanic using only simple hand tools. A positioning template is provided to assist with cutting of the new opening for the additional outlet tip. The new opening can be cut through the soft urethane bumper material using only a small utility knife. A small sanding block is then required to smooth out the opening to the final shape.
Connecting Pipe (Required) |
The Power Pulse Dual Outlet Muffler for 1990-97 Miata applications must be combined with a connecting pipe. See the correct Power Pulse Connecting Pipe for either the 1990-95 or 1996-97 (OBD-II cars) application. Two connecting pipe versions are available, select from either the resonated Power Pulse or Sport version (year specific). This exhaust is "cat-back" emissions legal and meets California sound level requirements.
The Power Pulse Connecting Pipe incorporates a presilencer to moderate the sound level to deep, throaty tone. Both the muffler canister and the presilencer are manufactured using a stainless steel perforated tube core, wrapped with stainless steel wool, and packed to capacity with a high temperature ceramic wool. This design technique allows for a low restriction, straight through design, combined with superior sound dampening characteristics.
The Power Pulse Sport Connecting Pipe is produced without the presilencer section, and offers a louder, and more robust exhaust note. While not obnoxious or buzzy, this pipe will allow the exhaust note to rise more moderately under acceleration.
