If your car
does not have power steering or if your model has the reservoir only
you can proceed to STEP 9. From STEP
7 you installed the intercooler, check for clearances of the power
steering tube as shown in Photo 8-C. The modification requires bending
the tubes for clearances around the intercooler. Using a rubber mallet
or pipe bender will help bend the tuff to bend power steering tubes.
Hardware
Package D-1
- Test fit the power steering tube as shown in Photo
8-E.
- Remove the intercooler
and bend the P/S tubes as required.
- Using a rubber mallet
or pipe bender bend
the two tubes as shown in Photo 8-B. The tubes are hard to bend and
will require a good hard hit if using a mallet. You are looking for
about a 1/4" of clearance where the tubes wrap around the intercoolers
end tank as shown in Photo 8-C.
- Install the intercooler
temporarily and tighten down enough to not move.
- Attach the P/S
tube mounting bracket as shown in Photo 8-D and then test
fit for clearances on the intercooler end tank. Adjust as necessary,
- When satisfied
with the fit securely tighten the intercooler hardware including
the P/S mounting bracket as shown in Photo 8-E.
